Hello,
So I'm sure we all have noticed the ever climbing prices of the world system which means we all are looking to save everywhere we can. Thanks to some friends and some great recipes I've found digging through books and old card sets I have found easy to make very affordable meals. The one in this pic below are of my first experiencement today. They are of my version of what someone told me about, called Homemade Hot Pockets. I used some mystery meats I got from a food program at our church, cheddar cheese and 2 crescent rolls pressed together. They weren't too terribly time consuming. I like how cheap they were! I got the cheese on sale, the c rolls on sale AND the meat was FREE! So rather than paying about $5 or more for 2 I paid about $8 for 4 packs of c rolls, and a 16oz block of cheese. Yep good deal I know....not great, but pretty good.

New dog
A few months after we moved into our new house we decided to start looking into getting a dog. About a week later Chris' brother called and gave us one his dogs. Her name is Trypod. She has all 4 of her legs but when she jogs she picks up her back left leg. She has fit right in here and I don't think we could have paid for a better dog letalone get her for free! She's my pal and usually follows me everywhere I go.
Here are pictures of her.

12.30.2010
Well I didn't do to well keeping this up to date.... That's not fun. Lets do a quicky update to get you up to speed.
May 2010 Chris and I graduated from VWMTC and decided we were moving up to Hays, KS
June: Celebrated our 1 year of marriage and got news that Chris was getting laid off from his job. I'll explain more on that in a bit
July: Move to Hays and a week later leave for China
August: Chris is working at his new job and we are settling into life in a small town.
Sept
Oct
November: 90 day evaluation for Chris' new job.
December: Chris gets a phone call from former employer and is offered his job back in Tulsa.
So I'll start with June. We were blessed with an amazing get away to OKC it was great....
Getting laid off:
A few days after we graduated from VWMTC Chris gets pulled in for a mandatory meeting at work where he would receive the news that the manufacturing facility he works at is being changed into a warehouse and distribution center. Meaning his job no longer existed. 6 guys were kept on during the month of June to help them in transition between the two, Chris being one of them. God was all over this because our lease on our apartment was up the first part of July. Not only that, but we would have medical insurance until Chris found a new job.
July:
We move our stuff up to Hays July 4th weekend are there for a few days pack our bags and head to Tulsa to fly out to China.
China was amazing... I hope to post about that later.....
We get back from our trip and the job search begins fires up the resume and has a discouraging first week, but after week two he is starting his new job. Which "happened" to be one of the highest starting paid jobs in Hays. PTL!!!

Happy Spring!
Lets see what all has happened since my last post
1. Chris have moved and are settled in finally
2. Chris started 4th quarter and we are fastly approaching graduation
3. Chris and I are going to China
The move:
In January our apartment was broken into... I posted something about it I"m sure.... so about a week after that happened we moved to a new apartment. It is a nice two bedroom. I'm getting used to it. I think we are just finally getting things into their spot. Funny thing is that we are moving in June. At least we get a few months of niceness then it is back to boxes. Our lease isn't up till July, but Chris' mom goes to California from June 8th through the 22nd. In that time frame we will be packing up our apartment and moving to Hays. Not really sure at this point where to in Hays, but God will provide when it comes to that point.
classes:
wow this quarter has been so much fun so far. We only have classes M. Tu. and F. Wed. and Thr. we have outreaches that we have planned. it technically is class in itself but since in order to do outreach we have to go out. We aren't in the classroom. Today we did an outreach that was a lot of fun. We went to a nursing home and painted finger nails for the ladies and the guys played bored games with those that didn't want to. We got to pray with several people. it was really great to see lives changed.
Graduation is coming up fast. We are done with school May 30th. We have been enjoying all of it, but we are both VERY ready to be done. We are both so excited for the next steps that God is directing us in we are about to burst. It is so much fun watching him work through us in the things that we are doing next.
China:
one of the things that we are doing next is going to China. We are going with a dear friend of ours that has been working in or with China for over 20 years. He and his familly lived there for 10 years and realized what they were doing would be more effective if they were based in the States and traveled back and forth. We will be going with him in July. Not really sure on where all we will be going, but we will be working with youth. It has been really cool how it has all worked out.
One cool thing I'm still excited about was my passport. When our apartment was broken into our passports were stolen. Thankfully we did have insurance so all that was lost has been recovered. I needed to get my name changed on my passport since the wedding.... so I just got my passport updated FOR FREE!! PTL He is so good.
The dates for the trip are July 6th through the 26th.
